» The University of West Florida has appointed Susan Shaw director of UWF at Emerald Coast in Fort Walton Beach. Shaw, a 29-year UWF employee, had been interim director since August and earlier was associate director of marketing communications for the Emerald Coast campus.

» David Goetsch has retired after 36 years from Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, where he was an instructor, professor, department chair, director, dean, provost and vice president. Goetsch played leadership roles in establishing the Fort Walton Beach campus and college centers in Crestview and South Walton and in expanding the Chautauqua Center in DeFuniak Springs.
